Education & Training Programs
The Lurie Cancer Center offers NIH-funded training programs for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows (MD and PhD), clinicians and under-represented students. Trainees may pursue basic, translational or clinical research under the guidance of established investigators. They receive state-of-the-art training using the latest techniques to investigate the mechanisms underlying the development and spread of tumors and develop new approaches to prevent, detect, diagnose and treat cancer. In addition to research training, many of the programs have educational components. Each program provides a stipend.
Summer Research Programs
Our summer research programs give students the opportunity to learn and become active participants in cancer research.
Fellowships
We participate in a number of fellowships to provide comprehensive clinical training and research experiences to tomorrow's leaders in cancer care.
Master of Biotechnology Program
The Master of Biotechnology Program, administered by the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, integrates biology and engineering and features extensive hands-on research opportunities in Northwestern University faculty laboratories.
