Cancer-Focused Research
Dr. Khan's research is focused on translation studies in myeloid malignancies. She focuses on identifying and validating therapeutic targets in myeloid leukemias using patient samples and animal models. She has received institutional funding including a KL2 award, extramural funding from the Leukemia Research Foundation and an ongoing American Cancer Society career development grant. Having spent her early career at a minority serving cancer center, she has been working with neighboring Chicago institutions to investigate the role of structural racism in influencing outcomes in leukemia.
